Long story, had had lower right side pain for years. Doctors chalked it up to stressand gas pains. Ultrasounds/bloodwork all normal. Fast forward 15 yrs and I retire from work. Get major right side pain. Under a lot of stress due to retirement and family drama. CT/ultrasounds/bloodwork work all fine. No D or C issues or stomach. iBs or stress. Colonoscopy had pre cancerous polyps so another follow up is booked for Jan. Gallbladder has cysts and liver is non fatty type. No concern. Kidneys same. In June I had strep throat went on antibiotics and ever since then my stomach has been gassy, hard to eat foods and pain has been constant. Been eating pretty bland so have lost a …

How do people stand the 'runs' with every meal? Or am I the only person who gets it everytime I eat or drink? I have to eat only supper around 5pm. It's too much with the runs more than that. That's even too much actually. And now it happens some mornings with nothing to eat!!

Anyone often have flat-looking poop? My gp wasn't worried (all test negative/normal, no colonoscopy though). They seem to get flatter when I take stool softeners, but still have width and bulk. GP says I have ibs (bloating, pain in side, Bristol type 2 stools from time to time, all symptoms waxes and wanes)

Has anyone notice they constantly get the Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria? I notice I get this a lot. Anyone heard of a correlation between the two? I have had IBS with constipation and without. I had this since I was 13 and I am now 46. I never really understood what causes it and all the meds do not relieve my symptoms. They just cause sometimes painful side effects.

What would be the best healtiest food to eat when everything bothers you? When you have to eat but you don't feel like it? Knowing you have to. (Something not requiring being chewed)

I am 68, male, from India originally, and have been suffering from IBS for at least 25 years in the form of poor digestion, bloating, partial evacuation, poor motility and gas. I don't fit into IBS-C or IBS-D. As such for many years I have had to limit fatty foods, milk, dairy, etc. in my diet. My weight is 125-130 lb. height 5'10". There is also a hereditary element to my condition. For the last 9-10 years I was on a low 10 mg per day dose of Nortriptyline (a tricyclic antidepressant) per the advice of my GI doctor and it helped control my symptoms by reducing the sensitivity in the intestines. However, about three years ago my sodium dropped into the 131-134 range. Add…

Seems like I may have to just eat after I go to bed. In bed. It's the absolute only time any food or drink does not bother me. I can have the same food or drink when I'm up and awake and it causes my runs but not after I go to bed. I can eat cheese in bed and nutritional drinks and any food I might have already ready to eat. I'm not talking about making meals after I go to bed but things easy to eat already made that I made or bought. Idk what else to do. I can't buy the drugs I was prescribed. We all do what we have to I guess. Does anyone else have to do this?

I have read several studies and articles that say biofeedback is helpful for constipation. But I would like to hear from some actual people that have tried it! If you have tried it, was it helpful?

Hi, 3-4 years ago now it all started when I ate at a fast food resturant and was extremely ill for a few days after consuming. At the time I thought it was a bug so a few weeks later I ate at the same place again and the same thing happened. I now avoided the fast food place. I recently did a H-polyri test which did come back negative as the fast food chain was a chicken one. I was ok for a short while after and was rough again but not anyway near as bad. Usually sick once and a dodgy stomach for a few days. At the point I pin pointed it to diet sodas especially diet coke. I did test it last August and had 2 pints of diet pepsi whilst out and I was sick just o…

Since my last post I've gotten some new answers about what's causing my issues but, no real solution to fix them. I was originally told i had visceral hypersensitivity from an injury that brought on ibs systems through stress. After more tests and procedures, I've found out i have biliary hyperkinesia, which may be causing excess gas, causing chest pain, abdomen pain and loose bowel movements. My doctor told me, gallbladder removal may help or it may cause other issues that could be worse. I was curious if anyone has experienced something like this or gas some insight.

I did a bit of reading and found that it isn't the particular food that comes out when u eat. In other words it's not the food u are presently eating or have just eaten. That comes out in the watery diarea. If this is so then foods can't be a trigger. Which explains to me why some foods always cause watery diarrhea and some only sometimes cause this. That may be why I have a list of foods that always do and only sometimes do and some that don't at all (which is only 1 to this day so far). Have I understood this correctly? So what is coming out then? Brown water I guess.

I have been suffering from IBS-D for 2 years. At first my doctor said to stop lactose but it didn't help. Finally after a year and a half he said to talk to a dietician who has put me on a low fod map diet and also wants me to start challenging some foods in small portions. I'm looking for a support group because sometimes I feel so down having this and I would like to communicate with other people who have a similar issue.

I’ve had severe IBSD for about eight years, and had my gallbladder removed last year. Now it seems even worse and I’m wondering if there’s a link between these two issue's. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks!

Hi. I am not new to IBS. I was diagnosed at 18. I’m soon to be 50. this symptom is also not new and I want to know if anyone experiences it. I seem to have pressure. Like a bubble in my lower left quadrant in the intestines. I believe its the sigmoid colon. It feels like trapped gas because a lot of times it comes with gas. But sometimes it feels like gas is trapped. Sort of like where a hernia would be. Its never really painful. Its just very uncomfortable and even after i pass gas it remains. The thing is it remains for months. Its always there. Then a month or two later i never really notice but it disappears for a few months. I’m like wow ive figured it out diet wi…
