Hello, I was diagnosed with IBS-D about 5 years ago. After goes to the doctors for a couple years trying to figure out the problem, I was finally prescribed Viberzi 100mg tablets to be used twice a day. This medication has worked perfect for me! Finally!! I have been taking these for about 3 years and recently my insurance has denied to cover this medication anymore because it is so expensive, even if they don't say that directly, we all know how cheap insurance companies are. Within a week the pain and diarrhea came back with a vengeance. The pain is on the bottom left side a few inches directly left of my belly button and moves downwards to the bottom of my gut. It seem…

Hi all, I have been dealing with a frustrating problem for quite a few years and am hoping someone here can help. I have IBS, the main symptom being severe bloating at night and in the morning. However I only ever feel gas on the left side. For about the past 5 years I have been experiencing a flaring of my ribs on the left side (that's what I believe it is as CT scan has showed nothing). I am wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar. Do you think it is possible that a flared rib could be caused by dissension from gas? Any answers or experience with this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I'm new to this forum, appreciate any help. Been reading terms like ibs-c. What are the types of ibs and symptoms please. I have had it for years but lately more problems. Diarrhoea with any spicy food, garlic, onions, cabbage, gravies, rich food, creamy foods, too much cheese, and many fruits including mango, watermelon, peach, etc. Taken myself off cheese and dairy generally. After cramping and diahhorea I may go several days without a bowel movement. Using oat or lactose free milk. Mostly multigrain bread doesn't affect me. Dr prescribed Colese and I've started this. So if anyone can suggest which type of ibs I have and treatment? Thank you.

Over the last week and a half nearly two and a half weeks, I have felt like I have an excess amount of flatulence to get rid of. There are what u I describe as popping sensations and like air moving around before i need to release the gas. Along with that I have felt what I think is stomach grumbling / spasmodic/ rumbling type sensations that last for a majority of the day. I had a colonic done recently to try and alleviate the discomfort to no avail. There is stomach pain that comes and goes throughout the day and because of my anxiety this might be exacerbated a little more. All the ‘pain’ is focussed around the bottom of my stomach. The pain feels like a dull …

Hello, I need some advice please. I've been told I have ibs. I have had for around 12 years since having my oldest child. I've had a number of tests which were done when things were "settled" so nothing flagged up. In every bowel movement I have it is absolutely covered with mucus and are slimy. I get intense pain and cramps with wind. I will get urgency and then struggle to pass a stoop even though they can be incredibly soft and loose. When they are formed they can be slim and flat. I have had blood in stool but all tests last year were okay. I have had bowel movements this last week which have had a white ish mucus coating. I have bee…

I’m at a loss and need advice. I have two sometimes 3 movements a day. I’ve been calling it IBS-C since my feces are firm and well formed. It’s just that my rectum doesn’t want to push them out. They sit there. I just used the bathroom and had to insert a gloved lubricated finger to increase the opening of the anus. That worked! I had such a hard time talking to my doctor about this. He suggested more fiber. I’m using Metamucil. Going potty shouldn’t be this time consuming! I eat lots of whole grains, fruit and vegetables. I’m on a diet and am losing weight.

I’m taking Metamucil powder, one tablespoon twice a day two hours after my meds and 30 min. before eating. I’m still having to manually help my stools out with lubricated finger. Im so sick of this. My rectum doesn’t empty all the way.I’ve taken the Metamucil for just 3 days now. It worked great first day. I’m wondering do I need to up the dose to two tablespoons? I want to avoid chemical laxatives. I eat lots of fiber. Im disabled and don’t go walking but I do have a stationary bike which I use daily. I’ve had this digestive problem since my colonoscopy in 2018. Something changed and I have never had a normal movement. I’ve tried fiber gummies with no luck. Please any ad…

Still waiting to see nutritionist. And yes my life is extremely stressful. Disabled spouse and care taker for 90 year old parent and high stress job to help pay for it all. I just want some relief!

Hello, I am looking for others who have IBS-M. I haven't been officially diagnosed, but I'm pretty sure I have it. I did have a clear colonoscopy and Endoscopy this year. My symptoms alternate between constipation and loose stools. For instance, I couldn't go yesterday, but I've gone 5 times already today. How do you manage this? Do you know if foods set it off?

It started a day i had ice cream. Within 2/3 hours my stomach sounded like an earthquake from a kids show. I couldnt hold back using the restroom. Along with the urgency came the warm pitted feeling in the center, the sides and lower part of my stomach. Lots of bloating and gas coming both ways. (I do have GERD, Generalized Anxiety Dissorder, PTSD and various other mental issues) the cramps or pains where never debilitating. The pain scale maxed out at a 3 maybe a 4 at times. Usually using the restroom always helped. Fast forward until last week. The major consistent cramps subsided, the heated aches and pains subsided. Mainly the bloating, feel pressure or food digested …

Hi everyone, I really need help. I'm F31 and going through some very bad health anxiety right now. I've been engulfed in fear for 10 days. I’ve never been diagnosed with IBS, but I suspect I have it On Sunday August 11th I had a large breakfast of bacon, pork, eggs, and potatoes. 10 minutes into eating | get intense stomach pains, all across my midsection. I ran to the washroom and had a regular bowel movement which seemed to help the intense pain. The pain continued for 3-4 days, it would come in waves, and I felt like I had to poop all the time but it was normal bowel movements. The day before I had fried chicken for dinner and felt fine. Anyw…

Hi, I have been seeing doctors and took different medical tests which all came normal (negative) and they concluded that I have Ibs due to symptoms like chronical abdominal pain, bloating, gas, constipation and sometimes diarrhea. And all this triggered by food I eat, stress and sometimes they just come for no reason I don’t know. For last year doctor gave me spasmomen medecine and I avoided food like dairy products, coffee&tea, sweet potato and avocado and this helped for whole year without problem but this year it came back worse . I lost weight due to select food I eat I am always in fear and it affected me mentally. What’s worse is that if something triggers m…

Hey all I'm new here and have been experiencing upset stomachs and diarreah for the last 5-10 years or so. Never been to the doctor about it... I always just assumed that I was lactose intollerant as I do consume a lot of dairy, but always been happy to deal with the stomach pains if it means I can eat dairy! I generally consume a lot of dairy, whey protein etc, and have a healthy diet (Very little junk or processed food). The last year the stomach pains have gotten worse, so I decided to reduce my dairy amount, switch from cow milk to almond, vegan protein instead of whey. This helped a bit but still not fully better. So maybe dairy isn't the issue? It just seems to…

Does anyone have constant painful diarrhea almost every time you eat? I don’t have a lot of foods in my diet right now, but no matter what I eat, other than oatmeal and campbells soup, it causes diarrhea which leads to significant weight loss because I can’t keep anything in. I’ve tried herbs/herbal teas, elimination diet, exercise, stress/ anxiety management, Xifaxan and nothing helps. I was diagnosed with IBS-D but can’t seem to find what will work for me.

Howdy, I've had GI issues most of my adult life. It usually was brought on by stressful things and lasted maybe a day, most of the time one trip to the bathroom solved the problem. I went thru a phase where I would get a stomach ache (not really nausea, just an ache), burp a lot, have heartburn and again a trip to the bathroom (or two) did the trick. I've struggled with GERD for at least 20 years so bad I've gone to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. Now I seemed to have morphed into stomach ache, trip to the bathroom, more stomach ache sometimes another trip. It seems to be something in the digestive tract as Gaviscon seems to offer some relief …

I've had IBS for over twenty years and live with it. I am lucky as if I don't eat I don't have any problems so I am free to travel. I just need porcelain near me (in under five minutes!) for at least three hours after eating anything but my 'safe' foods. Some foods can have me running to the bathroom in under four minutes. Most of the time it is a partial or whole colon evacuation. The event that keeps me careful is when it is a total system flush and I am down 7-10 pounds and need fluids like Gatorade and then consuming bread or rice to 'restart' my system. I just hate dealing with all the wannabe doctors and nutritionists diagnosing me and have had some ugly b…
