Significant other or family members can be either helpful or unhelpful when a person is dealing with IBS, and the nature of these relationships can directly impact symptom severity.

Family support is a crucial part of a strong support network, which can help manage stress and alleviate symptoms.

I think it because I feel sick and eating is a problem they can not understand why I do this

It's hard to be "sick" all the time and while my family understands and is supportive, I'm sure it gets tiresome for them as they don't know how to help. Perhaps you can tell your family what being supportive looks like. Perhaps it's not asking whether you are hungry or why aren't you finishing your meal.

It's not easy for them I know but they could be a bit more understanding

Hard conversation to ask them to be more understanding. Have you ever tried to have that conversation?
