Jeffrey Roberts
While at DDW I visited with the pharmaceutical that makes IBgard®. IBgard® uses patented technology to allow peppermint to be absorbed in the small intestine instead of the stomach. Peppermint is known to be a smooth muscle relaxer. It has been used for digestive illness for many years. Peppermint oil is widely recommended by doctors for soothing the bowel related to abdominal pain. I decided to try it for myself. The capsules are green and are easy to swallow. Within 5 minutes I felt a sensation of bursting peppermint in my stomach. It was actually kind of uncomfortable. The instructions indicate that this is not unusual. Within 30 minutes the feeling dissipated. I am not sure of the results; however, I am trying one each day for 7 days to see if there is any difference in my IBS-D/IBS-M. IBgard® is available without a prescription and can be found in many drug stores in the US and Canada. More information about IBgard® can be found on their website, https://ibgard.com
Jeffrey Roberts
As a follow-up, I abandoned IBgard after 4 days. The burning feeling in my stomach became too much and I actually felt like my stools were very acidic and loose as a result of this. I hope it works out better for some people. JasonG
IBS problems after gallbladder removal RESOLVED! After my frustrations with trying the medicines my doctors and webMD recommended for the IBS problems I developed after my gallbladder removal, I found two over-the-counter products that really work, Ibgard and Align probiotics. These products have been God-sent. My doctors’ medicines and advice were totally ineffective for me. With these products in tandem, It makes no diference if I eat fatty foods or not. Also, they have regulated my digestive system, and the bathroom urgency issues have been alleviated. In particular, Ibgard has helped tremendously so far with these issues.
MissyC
So you can take both Ibgard and Align together? same time of day or different times? I just found out I have IBS and I need some relief!
