February 3, 20251 yr comment_98483 Hi, I'm new here and have IBS-C. I've been on Linzess since 2022. It works well for a while but then stops, requiring patience. I currently take 290 mg, up from 145 mg. It's comforting to know others share similar experiences. In the Fall, Linzess wasn't effective, so my doctor prescribed 2 mg of Motegrity in November. However, I chose not to take it after learning about potential side effects like depression and anxiety. I value my mental health and don't want to risk it. I'm glad to have found this supportive forum for dealing with IBS- Report

I'm glad to have found this supportive forum for dealing with IBS- @JLo, I was at the FDA meeting when Motegrity was approved and that warning about depression and anxiety was added because there was a very small signal from another similar medication that was approved the day earlier. Only one member of the committee spoke about the signal. It didn't seem like there was real hard data on the issue. Something to consider again as the benefit of it may outweigh the risk for you. March 23, 20251 yr comment_99493 I have been on linzess since it came out 290 mcg and my doctor at that point told me to take it at night to help with the bloating and IBS symptoms it took a little bit but it started working and did well recently I started with really loose stools in the morning when I wake up so I have switched to taking it in the morning before breakfast it's working a little bit but I think it's just going to take a little bit to get me to go to the bathroom but I don't have tons of gas or bloating Report

July 25, 20251 yr comment_102255 I’ve been on LINZESS for 1 1/2 years. Power dosage, now highest dosage. I have incredibly awful gas. I don’t want to stop LINZESS, because I am at least going to bathroom more frequently, but the gas is so very embarrassing that I’ve stop doing some activities. It’s just awful and it’s making my life very lonely. Report

I take other meds for lupus and hypothyroid and other....how should I time my other meds with Linzess? It interfered with Synthroid for me and my TSH shot up to over 3 which it has never been ever. I used to take my Synthroid (also AM before breakfast) then follow 1 hr later with Linzess and this was the result. I also tried empty stomach mid afternoon and it still interfered. So now I am taking it at bedtime. Will know the result at next Dr visit. Report
