I don't know the answer to this, but I can say that a lot of people have tried to sell Aloe Vera as a treatment for IBS for at least 20 years and there has never been any research to support its use.

I think Aloe Vera can work as a laxative. It is mildly anti inflammatory, but that may or may not be relevant with IBS. I am always unsure about how good it is to take regularly. All I know is a family member of mine drank a little aloe vera juice every day for a little while and she said it helped her with constipation.

Thank you for your replies. As with any supplement, trial and error seem to be the cautionary words.

I take Aloe Vera capsules daily for a bladder disease I also have but have never experienced it making any of my IBS symptoms worse. That being said every body reacts differently so there is no telling. Good luck!
