Nighttime symptom and weight loss...

Hello everyone,

Does anyone else experience nighttime cramps / gurlgling / diarrhea and / or weight loss with their IBS-D?  During flares I get both of these.  I've had 2 colonoscopies in the past.  Had one in 2010 that showed proctitis / inflammation of my rectum but I also had a cryptosporidium infection at the time so the GI doctors chalked the inflammation up to that.  The second one was in 2018 and only showed very mild inflammation in my colon and terminal ileum which the GI doctor / pathologist didn't think was Crohn's disease (more likely a resolving infection or maybe due to medication use).  Despite these "abnormal" colonoscopies I've been diagnosed with IBS-D.  I should note that I've had MULTIPLE negative tests including multiple normal fecal calprotectins, CBC's, CRP's and a normal MRE.  But I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the diagnosis of IBS when I've had "abnormal" colonoscopies and these "alarm symptoms" of nighttime symptoms and weight loss so I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar course (even though several GI doctors have told me they don't think it's IBS despite these things).

Thanks,

Max
