Vitoconti
I’ll keep this short… I am a GERD and IBS sufferer (suffer IS NOT a strong enough word) and may have stumbled upon an absolute miracle! I can only assume you have horrific IBS episodes like I do that are so bad that health anxiety spikes - that it “has to be” something worse (regardless of all the best invasive test known to medical science saying otherwise)! Considering it is anxiety/stress that kicks off flareups in the first place, the negative feedback loop that inevitably ensues due to the fore-mentioned make it seem like you’re drowning and nothing can help. Well…. I happened to take 50mg of Benadryl for horrific hay fever right in the middle of one of these “the world is ending” flare-ups and the flare up DISAPPEARED! I did further research on Google between antihistamines and IBS and whatayaknow!!!!! Recent study in Germany 🇩🇪 on H1 blockers like Benadryl vastly reduce symptoms - it interrupts the brain-gut messaging of “pain”. Side benefit…. Benadryl is also an anti-anxiety treatment. I am about as happy as anyone could be!!!! Good luck! Edited May 13, 2022 by Vitoconti Spelling
Esjie
Maybe you have histamine intolerance rather than IBS? I have thought of experimenting with an anti-histamine just to see what might happen, except the added dietary restrictions are too much for me to handle . It is so good to hear that has helped you ! Do yo find taking it at a certain time of day is better? Are you taking it for IBS D or C?

Billy
You're lucky. I took benadryl for years with no problem. But now I've had IBS-C for several years, and I don't take it anymore because my doctor said it contributes to constipation. I'm trying CBD products for sleep and I've tried so many supplements and diets. There has got to be answer to this. Mine has been so bad that I haven't worked in 2 months. I don't know what to do
