So there are actually 2 tests offered by Gemelli Biotech. The one you are referring to isn't actually the new one. It's the older test that looks for the measurement of anti-CdtB and anti-vinculin. It's perfectly legit and has been validated. It indicates a previous GI infection that may be the cause of chronic diarrhea and/or IBS-D.

The new test is a breath test and it is called Trio-Smart. It measures all of the primary fermented gases in your gut: hydrogen, methane, and hydrogen sulfide. This may be the cause of bloating, gas, constipation and/or diarrhea from SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth).

I have personally taken the original IBS-smart test. It indicated that I did not have any measurable anti-CdtB and anti-vinculin. My results are likely skewed because I also have Crohn's disease.
