i have IBS-C , recently i been extremely anxious and going through a lot of personal situations, i wasn't able to produce a bowel movement for 2-3weeks, but im feeling better and i been taking miralax for 3 days but i only seems to get one bowel movement a day, that's not enough i should be producing more. then i switch too dulcolax, and got some relief (not much) i speed walk on my treadmill everyday i tend to walk about 0.5 miles everyday someday ill walk more, but  it seems like im still not getting relief. i been to doctors and the medications they give me doesnt work, the medication linzess used to work greatly for me but weirdly it doesn't work anymore, i can go weeks with taking linzess and it wont do anything for me! can anyone give me advice on what to do , what exercises can i do,  am i eating the right food? i eat a lot of chicken, some days ill eat Hamburger meat with rice a lot of the time, i will have fast food a couple  times a week or every 2 weeks. some days ill eat noodles. i snack on a lot of chips and some sweats like candy, brownies. i appreciate any feedback!!!, thank you.

Hi Michelle,

I have heard people complain that linzess stops working for them too. I know it comes in 3 different doses and I'm wondering if anyone suggested upping the dosage?

Aside, there is a new medication that is quite different than linzess. It's called IBSrela. Additionally, there is another medication called motegrity that is for CIC, but I know some people with IBS-C have been using it.

It's amazing that your diet doesn't help. Many of those foods have fats and sugars which usually cause your GI system to move things along more quickly.

I have taken the strongest doses of Linzess and trulance with no help at all.  I am now on Montegrity and it helped the first week.   I am still taking it because I paid $300 but I also take miralax in the  morning and magnesium at night too.   With all three , i do get relief but not overly.  Some night I take dulcalax .   Please tell me about the other med that is out. I’ll try anything.  This condition only gets worse with age.  I am 67.  Good luck to us all.  I have CIC

im currently on the highest dosage (290) but i stopped it a few days ago because it wasnt working for me. it seems like even things over the counter i buy will work greatly but then stop working, right now im taking fiber gummies and dulcolax soft chews and im doing alright, im in the works of seeing a new GI doctor because the one i see now, i dont like her at all shes not helpful, i seen her 3 times a few months ago and its like she doesn't either care or understands how series it is what im going through. my GI doctor told me there is only 2 medication out there for me ( the linzess and trulance) and neither work for me, so i went back to see her (a long time ago) and beacause im not having frequent bowel movements i swear to god she said "are you eating food?" ............................................................................. lol,  but ill talk to my doctor ASAP  about this medication thank you!
