mikemcm22
Does anyone have IBS without diarrhea or constipation? I have never heard of anyone having this but after five years and more recent very intense bloating I have been diagnosed with IBS. I only have looser stools sometimes but never diarrhea or constipation. For some background, I have very intense bloating, an intolerance to fructose foods, and have had multiple positive breathe tests over 5 years. Thanks. Jeffrey Roberts
The usual pattern for IBS is abdominal pain relived by a bowel movement that is associated with diarrhea or constipation or a combination of both. IBS is regarded as a functional GI disorder. There are other functional GI disorders that don't have diarrhea or constipation. SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) has symptoms of bloating and is typically diagnosed from breath tests. They can also have a diarrhea or constipation component. Perhaps the reason that you were diagnosed with IBS was because of your occasional looser stools?
