ksc
Hi all I'm struggling with some symptoms and I'm not getting any answers from doctors although they are trying! I've had a pain in my lower left abdomen/pelvis for months. It's sometimes worse and sometimes not very bad at all. I've had a colonoscopy which they said everything looked fine and no biopsies taken. I think I have a hemorrhoid as it hurts when poo come out and there's fresh blood. I generally do one poo a day but the seem to be on the more constipated side. I've now had what looks like a white mucus on poo. Does any of this sounds like ibs to anyone? I'm at a loss to what's going on with my body. Wondering if I have some intolerances if not? Any advice would be so welcome I'm losing my mind! Jeffrey Roberts
Hi Ksc, I understand the problem with still having symptoms and doctors not finding anything. Pleased to see that they are still trying! Your doctors understand that you are passing fresh blood? It could be from a hemorrhoid because you mention that it hurts. Have you tried sitting in a sitz bath to ease the hemorrhoid and pain. I'm not sure what the white mucus is. It could be natural as mucus is not unusual especially if you are more on the constipated side. It doesn't make me feel that it's from an infectious cause or food intolerance. The mucous sounds like IBS, and the hemorrhoid could be from forcing out the stool. Does the abdomen pain come and go or is it constant? Constant doesn't make me feel like it is IBS, as IBS kind of waxes and wanes and a bowel movement often relieves the abdominal pain. There is something called anorectal manometry which is a test that measures how well the rectum and anal sphincter are working. Has anyone recommended this? This pain is pure constipation but is building up. I have tried 4 prescription meds but non have worked I finally went to a pharmacy that compounds their meds. They told me to take magnesium and miralax. I doubled the magnesium for a few days. It works. Right now that’s what I’m doing. My dr wanted to run a balloon test in my rectum , saying it was nerve damage from childbirth. I said No Way! I’ve also found eating cole slaw everyday with an apple, raisins and extra carrots in it helps too. Please send info in what helps you. Once you get your bowels moving, the pain will go away. I know my body. It is not that and I’m not doing the test. I’m taking magnesium and miralax currently and it is helping.
