Dominik
I'm relatively new to the FODMAP topic. I've tried to find reliable lists of high and low FODMAP foods. What puzzles me is that endives are listed as low FODMAP in many sources, but to my understanding it is very high in inulin (like many other bitter types of lettuce), which *is* high FODMAP. Also, my gut does not repond well to endives, which seems to confirm my suspicion that endives are high FODMAP. Did I get something wrong? Jeffrey Roberts
Hi and welcome! The best list for FODMAP foods is the Monash University FODMAP app. It's accurate and always up-to-date. According to the app this is what I see for endives. There could be other reasons why endives give you difficulty, other than FODMAPs. Dominik
Thanks for the app recommendation! That's definitely useful. My confusion must stem from the amounts - maybe inulin is bad in high concentration, but fine in typical amounts of endive?
Jeffrey Roberts
I'm not really sure. I know that sometimes eating food in itself might set me off even if it is safe food. For me, it's kind of the nature of IBS.
