Good day

I am Charlene but most people know me as Charli or Charl. I am a 42 year old female and was diagnosed  with IBS about 9 years ago in South Africa.

The Doctors here do not have so much experience in this type of field so I am seeking help online now with people who know exactly what I am going through.

It started and  the stomach cramps begin, was tested and showed it was IBS but now it has gotten so bad that I can hardly drink or eat never mind carry on with my teaching. I am always in pain and running to the bathroom. If I am lucky I  make it but there is times that I don't and then it hurts and feels embarrassed.

I am using Iberogast drop, Buscopan and even Peppermint drops or capsules but I am always in pain.

If anyone knows of anything else to use, please share.

The stomach also swells up hectic.

Thank you

Kind Regards

Hi charlene

im renee. I’m 68 years old and have had IBS for 22 years. I do so feel for you.
here are some things I try.
1) FODMAP diet. I find this very helpful.
2) I do drink water. But that gets boring so I make ice tea sometimes.
3) I do exercise I like. I exercise for how ever long or short I feel like.
4) I take over the counter laxatives and stool softeners that are easy in my tummy. I took amitiza and Linzess and they were too strong for me.
5) I try to stay patient when what I’ve been using as my routine stops working as well.
6) I stay proactive about my IBS.
7) then when all else fails, I try to remember gratitude. Gets my mind in a better place

Thank you so much for your advice. I have tried so many things but will try a different diet. I just always feel pain after I ate and my intestines starts hurting and making so much noise due to running to the bathroom so often.

God bless 🙌
