Nat
Hi all, I have been dealing with fluctuating GI health for a little over a year now. I would really love some help. Due to my age, I have been overlooked by many providers, which say I am too young to have GI issues out of the blue. Two months after COVID, I have experienced life altering symptoms. It began with difficulties using the restroom (not uncommon as I was diagnosed IBS constipation many moons ago, which I never took seriously) and later turned into nervous system bodily responses. I started having tachycardia and elevated blood pressure episodes at every moment of minor exertion. From standing in the sun for too long or drinking half a glass of wine. I went to the ER and saw many physicians with no answer. I am currently being treated for SIFO by a functional medicine physician. Her treatment has almost stopped all symptoms and lowered my and am struggling to find a decent gastroenterologist and am struggling to find a decent gastroenterologist., esophagitis, acid reflux, dry eye, a perpetual thirst, diarrhea (when eating heavily processed foods), etc. Has anyone else had these symptoms? Did your symptoms start or worsen after Covid? I am struggling to find a decent gastroenterologist to work in tandem with her. Let me know your thoughts, suggestions, or experiences. Thank you for your time, Natalie

Jeffrey Roberts
I do agree that some physicians play the age game and assume that younger people could not possibly have anything too serious which would dramatically impact their quality of life. ER is really not a good experience for anyone who has a GI problem. It's a problem for everyone. Your situation sounds very complicated. If it were me I would work with a solid primary care physician that could help find suitable expertise. I'm not sure I would jump to see a GI doctor.
Beats32
Have you researched POTS?
Nat
The doctors looked into POTS but nothing really happened with postural changes. Supposedly, I didn’t have the typical signs and it didn’t explain my GI symptoms
