Ida Kingsnorth
I have yet to find anything that has really helped. What do you know?
Jeffrey Roberts
Have you been diagnosed by a physician with IBS-D? What was their recommendation? What have you tried? What is your most troubling symptom?
Ida Kingsnorth
Yes I was diagnosed after all the testing because they couldn’t find anything else. I’ve tried eliminating dairy and wheat doing fodmap no real results. Using virbezi I had the best results but they’re not making any more. The newest meds is an anxiety pill and Colestid I’ll see how that goes
Jeffrey Roberts
I understand. If Viberzi worked well for you then you should stay with it. Viberzi is available in Canada again. You might have been misinformed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you still have a prescription for it, ask your pharmacist to order it. You can read about Viberzi availability in Canada here, As for the anxiety pill and colestid those are treating slightly different things. Depending on the anxiety pill (antidepressant) it has an anticholinergic effect which can dull the nerves in the intestine and reduce abdominal pain. It may also have a side effect of constipation - depending on which medication. Colestid is a bile sequestrant. It binds to bile which might be the cause of your diarrhea. Some people find cholestyramine power works better for them than colestid. You should really not be using anxiety pill, colestid and viberzi at the same time. You'll have to determine what works best for you.
