Survey on Irritable Bowel Syndrome w/Diarrhea (IBS-D)

A team of 13 undergraduate students from India contacted me over the last several months while they prepare a new treatment for IBS-D as part of the iGEM 2023 (International Genetically Engineered Machine) world competition. The iGEM competition is the world's biggest synthetic biology competition uniting scientific and innovative minds across the globe. The iGEM competition gives students the opportunity to push the boundaries of synthetic biology by tackling everyday issues faced by the world. The team is dedicated to address the complications associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome w/Diarrhea by developing a novel probiotic therapeutic using synthetic biology.
