I'm just back from hospital after seeing a gastroenterologist and I would need some of your advices... 

I have IBS-C type (I think... Even though I have one bowel movement daily and stools are always soft if not very soft but it takes me a really long time with often the feeling of not emptying my bowel completely so that's why I'm consider more as IBS-C). So after examination, my gatsroenterologist said that I have a prolapsed hemorrhoid stade 2 (a lump comes out during defecation and can be pushed back) : it's not painful, I don't have any pain and it’s like that for many months now. He prescribed me Daflon 500 to take 3 times a day for 1 month and also suppository (Doproct rectal) for 14 days, hopping that it will help the haemorrhoid to become smaller. I'm a little bit afraid that this prescription might not be appropriate because it looks like it is more to help with symptoms which I don't have (no pain). And 1 month of Daflon seems pretty long/strong, knowing that no more than 7 days is usually recommended. I'm leaving in a country where the medical system is not that develop and where systematic prescription of tonnes of medicine is very common. I also know that when I have to take medicine, it does affect very easily my digestive system and I don’t want to take medicine if not really useful. Do you have any experience by taking those medicines or any recommendation? Thank you.

Dear Lily,

Unfortunately, Daflon is not an FDA approved treatment in the United States and so I have no knowledge of it. When I have been told to try a treatment I usually follow the instructions unless I have side effects or can't tolerate it; however, if you haven't tried it can you see someone else for a 2nd opinion about how to shrink hemorrhoids?

I have same IBS like yours and bad hemoroid… so have you tried DAFLON?
