I'm a woman from Argentina. I've been dealing with what they say is IBS caused by anxiety. I've had diarrhea for two years. Had three soiling myself accidents, one in public, none in an anxiety-inducing situation. Nothing seems to stop it. Doctors don't want to do a colonoscopy or an endoscopy because they say I'm too young (I'm 27). Any advice?

Could you get them to order a fecal calprotectin stool test to see if there is any inflammation? Have you ever had any blood work done?

Have they offered any treatments? If they feel it is anxiety, would they be willing to prescribe amitriptyline, which is an old antidepressant that is used to manage pain and reduce diarrhea. It is not to treat anxiety.
