Hi so just some quick advice. I have Ibs and had a colonscopy last year and having another one in 4 year after finding a pre cancerous polyp which they removed. But my symptoms of Ibs for the last few weeks have been awful. Either constipation or diarreah. I have to say I have not been eating thr right foods and having a long gaps with not eating. No blood or weight lost. But I hate bothering docs but when do you go back to docs if worried. Also had fit test in April also negative. Thanks

What I hear from doctors is that if something has changed it is when you want to get some advice as to whether to investigate or not. I was personally diagnosed with IBS from the age of 15 to 40 until things changed. I discovered through a quick sigmoidoscopy that I had Crohn's disease as well as IBS. You never know unless you ask.

What does Crohn's disease feel like?  I was diagnosed with IBS-C.  I am feeling horrible and can't get any relief.

My Crohn's disease is in my large intestine (descending colon & rectum). More cases of Crohn's are found at the end of the small intestine, though Crohn's can be anywhere along the digestive tract.

For me, it felt like a bowel infection that wouldn't resolve. I had pain and loose stool.

Constipation can be seen with Crohn's when there is narrowing in the bowel.

Thank you for that informative reply.  I wonder how they diagnose the Crohn's disease?  I have had such pain and difficulty living a normal functioning life in my daily activities.  All doctors will tell me there is nothing wrong with me but IBS-C with diverticular disease with outpouches.  I am wanting to have them removed but the doctor did not advise it because he said they will come right back.  I was disappointed in that info.  I also fear that these pouches will burst, or get infected, but the doctor did not seem to think I should worry about that after he did my colonoscopy.  He mentioned I had a bout of severe severe inflammation and redness on the left side where these pouches were.  I asked if he would prescribe antibiotic, again he said not needed?  

All in all, I believe there are some doctors that just don't understand the gravity, pain and struggle we have until one day something major happens like requiring emergent surgery or something.  By then, I feel it's too late and there is no looking back.

They diagnose Crohn's disease (IBD) by tissue samples which look for specific cells in the bowel lining.

I agree that some doctor's will keep working with you to give you a better quality of life and others are quick to rule out the most serious and send you on your way.
